Why should we donate to charity?

Just as a caterpillar undergoes metamorphosis to become a butterfly, our youth is a period of immense growth, exploration, and development. During this time, we form our identity, values, and skills that shape our adult lives. However, it can also be overwhelming and disorienting as we abandon our childish ways and navigate the transition to adulthood. In these moments, we often wish for guidance over us while we work towards independence. Consequently, investing in youth means investing in the leaders, innovators, and change-makers of tomorrow, ensuring a brighter and more prosperous future for all.

Trybe is a charity organisation committed to journeying with the youths who are facing adversities to lead purposeful lives and inspire them to impact others.

What happens when you donate to a charity?

Why should I donate to charity monthly?

Monthly giving is a great form of donation as it offers a wide range of benefits for you and the receiving party. Here’s why:

  • Sustainable Support: When you donate monthly, it provides a predictable and steady source of support for our services, allowing us to do substantially more for our youths.
  • Hassle-Free: Set your donation once and your impact continues automatically, making it easier for you to contribute to meaningful change.
  • Greater Impact: When you donate monthly, it accumulates, leading to a significant yearly contribution.
  • A Community of Champions for the Youth: As a monthly donor, you become part of a group that makes “Every Youth a Success Story” a reality in Singapore.
  • Feel Connected: When you donate regularly, it keeps you engaged with our cause, offering satisfaction in knowing you’re making a difference all year round.

On top of that, you will still be eligible for a tax deduction as long as your total donation amounts to $100 or more within the year!

What is a Tax Deduction?

Donations made in the preceding year can reduce the amount of tax you have to pay. Tax deductions are available when you donate to charity organisations with an approved IPC status.  For Trybe, donors are eligible for a tax deduction if their total donations are at least $100 within the year.

Your tax deductions will be automatically applied to your tax assessments based on the information provided by the IPC. Donor’s name, donation date, and amount, which are detailed on the tax deduction receipt.

Benefits of donating

Other than being able to pay less tax, there are many other advantages to donating to charity, for both the donor and the receiving party.

When you donate to a charity organisation such as Trybe, you help drive social change and foster community development. Your giving fund vital programmes, such as youth development initiatives, making a tangible impact on those we serve.

Giving selflessly often leads to unexpected rewards. One of the primary rewards is the multitude of health benefits associated with the psychology of generosity. Knowing that you are providing essential resources to a worthy cause, increases personal satisfaction and growth, enhancing your self-esteem and self-worth. As a result, you’re likely to develop a more optimistic outlook and enjoy better health, with reduced risk of high blood pressure, insomnia, and other stress-related issues.

If you have a passion for the youth community, why not start with donating $10 a month to Trybe?
